Why we are called International Kakis?

Kakis is a Malay word referring to two or a group of friends with the same interest. We used International Kakis for our team name because our players come from different countries and we build our friendship through playing volleyball. Our background, language and culture are very different but one very important thing in common is that we all love volleyball.

How we operate?

International Kakis Volleyball Sport Club is voluntarily managed by the club manager William Lai, indoor coach Samuel Wong (men team), Perry Mathew (women team), beach coach Pascale Rangoni (women beach volleyball), Koen Meijerink and Kelvin Yeo are running the Sunday Beach volleyball group and also don't forget our photographer Peter Ho . IK players are a bunch of volleyball dedicated die-hards who train and play under IK, we never pay any player to play for the club.

Our organisation

Mission:
1. Mass participation
2. Raise the level of play
3. Promote the game volleyball within the region.

International Kakis Volleyball Sport Club is a non profit making volleyball sport club located in Singapore and registered with the Volleyball Association of Singapore. The objectives of having this club is to provide a place for the foreign and local volleyball players to train and play and this will eventually benefit and improve the skill level of the local players. This will also allow the foreign volleyball players to continue playing volleyball while they are staying, working or studying in Singapore.

Our History

International Kakis was founded in 2002 by Samuel Wong with 1 men team and 1 recreational group. After 5 years of development, we currently have 2 men teams, 1ladies team, 1 veteran team and 1 leisure group. William Lai joined the club in 2005 as the club manager.

Year 2005 was a memorable and successful year for us, we have won our first champion in the Pesta Sukan Open and we successfully retained our title in 2006 and 2007. We thank all the players for their dedication, team work and hard work during the training and the trust given to the coach.
